A 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening in Limassol after police allegedly discovered drugs in his possession during a search of his property.
According to the police, officers arrived at the property at around 6.45pm to execute a search warrant.
The suspect reportedly refused to open the front door and was seen running towards the rear of the house through an open window.
Officers forced entry into the residence, where they found the man standing over a toilet bowl.
Inside, the police say they recovered approximately four grams of cannabis, suggesting an attempt to dispose of evidence.
A subsequent search of the property uncovered a further six grams of cannabis, a small quantity of a white substance believed to be cocaine, and a precision electronic scale bearing traces of both substances.
During the investigation, police also carried out a search at the home of a relative nearby. There, officers located approximately 44 grams of cocaine.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and was taken into custody.
The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
