One man was arrested and two were taken to hospital after a fight broke in a block of flats in Larnaca on Wednesday night, the police said on Thursday.

The fight began between four men, aged 36 years old, 30 years old, 25 years old, and 23 years old, inside the block of flats at around 8.50pm.

The three eldest men involved told the police that the 23-year-old had “called his friends to the scene”, and that when those individuals arrived, they had attacked the 25-year-old and the 30-year-old with a “sharp object”.

The 30-year-old and the 25-year-old were as such transported to the Larnaca general hospital by ambulance, with the 25-year-old suffering wounds to his back and the 30-year-old suffering wounds to his hands, all of which were said to have been caused by a “cutting instrument”.

After receiving first aid, both men were discharged.

Later in the evening, police officers went to the scene and arrested the 23-year-old. He appeared before the Larnaca district court on Thursday and was remanded in custody for seven days.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
