In its fourth edition, KunstRaumGoethe presents the exhibition titled Between Imagination and Hope, featuring works by Nurtane Karagil, Mariandrie and Sophie Utikal. Opening on April 17 and lasting until early June, the exhibition will bpring Nicosia’s buffer zone to life, hosted at the Goethe-Institut Cyprus.
For this exhibition, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus invited the Berlin-based curator Dr Katharina Koch, who prepared the exhibition proposal and concept following a research trip to Cyprus in autumn 2025. The participating artists are Mariandrie and Nurtane Karagil from Cyprus, and Sophie Utikal from Germany.
The showcase addresses the urgency and possibilities of collaboration and connection in an increasingly fragmented world. It consists of drawings, textile works and objects by the three artists. Alongside the artworks is a parallel programme, consisting of screenings and discussions, guided tours, artist talk, and workshop, which allows visitors to reflect on some of the questions raised more closely.
Apart from the exhibition opening event on April 17 at 6pm, an artist talk and guided tour will also take place on the same evening at 7pm.
