Police on Sunday proceeded with the arrest of a 50-year-old suspected of having committed an armed robbery in Ayia Napa on Saturday.
According to the police, the man was arrested pursuant to a court warrant after allegedly robbing a 20-year-old man, who was walking in a neighbourhood in the Ayia Napa at around 10pm.
The 20-year-old attempted to resist and was injured by a knife that the alleged perpetrator had brought with them. He was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
