Ten people were arrested during targeted police operations carried out across on Sunday night, with offences including drug possession, robbery, stabbing and traffic violations.

Police said the arrests formed part of “preventive policing operations” aimed at crime prevention and public safety.

According to a police statement issued on Monday, officers stopped 580 vehicles for inspection during the overnight checks, while 744 drivers and passengers were screened.

 Authorities also carried out 48 inspections at premises, leading to three complaints.

Traffic enforcement formed a significant part of the operation, with police issuing 446 complaints for various offences.

Of those, 212 related to speeding violations.

Police also conducted 133 alcohol tests on drivers, with two individuals returning positive results.

As part of the wider operation, 19 vehicles were also impounded for further examination.
