A 42-year-old police officer was arrested in Limassol on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to interfere with judicial proceedings, according to police on Thursday.
The officer is being investigated for offences allegedly committed between May and June 2026.
The allegations involve conspiracy to obstruct justice, influencing a witness and making threats.
The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into suspected money laundering and organised crime.
Police stated the investigation is part of a wider organised crime probe initiated earlier this year.
In May, officers arrested a 45-year-old policeman, a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman in Limassol for alleged money laundering and involvement in a criminal organisation.
Authorities said property worth hundreds of thousands of euros was seized during those operations.
The 42-year-old suspect is expected to be brought before the court on Thursday for remand proceedings as investigations continue.
