A 30-year-old man was found dead in the sea off Limassol, police said on Friday.
Authorities received information regarding an unconscious man found in a coastal area of the district near Saint Raphael hotel at around 10pm.
The man was taken to Limassol general hospital by ambulance where doctors pronounced him dead, before police arrived at the scene, a spokesman told the Cyprus Mail.
According to the statement of an eyewitness, the man, who is of Indian descent, went swimming with his friends. He was found unconscious by a member of the group who notified an ambulance and the authorities, police said.
Investigations continue to determine the exact cause of his death.
