Prominent Greek singer and songwriter Dionysis Savvopoulos is coming to Cyprus this October for two free concerts celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution.

Titled Oh, Greece I Love You, the concert series were initially scheduled for September 10 and 11 but they have been now postponed to October. With the new concert dates, the performances will begin in Limassol on October 2 at Municipal Garden Theatre and conclude at Nicosia’s School of the Blind on October 3. Any audience members who already purchased their free tickets for the September concerts will be able to use them for the autumn performances.

The beloved singer won’t be travelling solo though. He will be accompanied on stage by singers Demetris Fanis and Annita Constantinou as well as the vocal ensemble Diastasis, the Philharmonic Orchestra Mesa Geitonias and the Folklore Orchestra.

Part of the concerts’ repertoire are, of course, Savvopoulos’ own well-known songs but also of other great Greek composers. Through his own unique way, Savvopoulos will take his audiences on a journey across the musical culture and civilisation of Greece, celebrating in this way its grand history.
