Vladimiros Tziortzis has returned from the UK with a second and a third place, in the second round of this year’s NASCAR WHELEN EURO SERIES.

The Cypriot driver recorded the best performance of his career at Brands Hatch, where he was again the fastest driver on track. He started both races from pole position while it is worth noting that his time in qualifying was faster both in his category (EURO NASCAR 2) and EURO NASCAR PRO, where theoretically more experienced drivers participate.

“I am very happy with our speed on the track and I want to thank the whole team for the excellent work that was done throughout the three days and before the race,” Tziortzis said.

Details cost us one, maybe two wins, especially on Saturday where we lost the victory in the extra laps (after organisers added an extra two laps due to many laps behind the Safety Car). I was ahead for 30 of the 32 laps,” Tziortzis added.

Regarding Sunday’s race, the 25-year-old driver states: “We had many laps behindthe Safety Car again and I believe that the restarts of two specific cars did not comply with the 2022 regulations, howeverour objections are under review.”

The third round of the championship will be held at the Autodromo di Vallelunga in Rome, on July 9-10.

“I am very satisfied with my performance so far compared to the corresponding period last year. The great speed and of course the stability we had in the first two races is a positive sign that fills me with optimism for the future,” said Tziortzis, who competes with Academy Motorsport / Alex Caffi Motorsports andwith the technical support of Petri Corse Automobili
