Coronavirus: 10 die from Covid in last seven days

Ten people died from Covid-19 in the past week, while another 2,667 people tested positive, the health ministry said on Friday.

The ages of the ten that died ranged from 72 to 90.

This means the total number of deaths from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic has reached 1,280.

There are currently 90 people in hospital being treated for the disease, 18 of whom are in a serious condition with five intubated patients, and another 13 in a high-dependency unit.

The ministry said that a total of 68,093 tests for Covid were carried out in the last seven days, and that 2,667 were found to be positive to the disease.

The total number to date of positive cases in Cyprus so far is 640,729.
