The health ministry is concerned by the spike in flu type A cases, but they are not panicking, Minister Michalis Hadjipantela said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference for American medical NGO, iSAVElives, Hadjipantela called on the people to get the flu vaccine, especially the elderly.

He said that the vaccine is important to help prevent potential hospitalisation of contracting the flu.

“At the same time, over the past few days there has been a reduction in coronavirus cases, according to the surveys of the health ministry,” he said.
