Young mother in serious condition after crash

A 31-year-old mother was seriously injured in a car crash in Timi on Tuesday night when the car she was driving with her three-year-old son collided into an oncoming vehicle.

The mother was rushed to Paphos general hospital and underwent surgery. Doctors have said her condition is now serious but stable, while the three-year-old was discharged.

The 53-year-old driver of the oncoming vehicle has been kept in for observation.

Paphos police press officer Michalis Nikolaou, explained on Wednesday morning that the crash occurred along the old Paphos-Limassol road. Both drivers are Timi residents.

Police said that investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
