Life in museums is buzzing these weeks as the world celebrates International Museum Day. Officially on May 18, the weeks surrounding the celebration are filled with exciting events, activities and performances at museums with something for all. With this year’s theme Museums, Sustainability and Wellbeing, the AG Leventis Gallery is organising a free experiential workshop on May 20 on the topic of Body Mapping and the Role of Nature and Art in Wellbeing.

The workshop addresses adults and will take place in the morning from 11am to 12.30pm. Although free to participate, those interested have to make a reservation by either calling or sending an email to the gallery. Touching on wellbeing and mental states, the workshop is held in collaboration with art psychotherapists Marina Ioannou and Eleni Petridou Bouriti, members of the Association of Art Therapists and Friends of Cyprus.

During the workshop, participants will embark on a guided tour of selected artworks in the gallery through which they will enter a conversation on climate change and how it affects physical and mental health. The guided tour will be followed by a creative workshop that aims to identify collective challenges and explore how the relationship between art and nature can work in a therapeutic manner for the body, soul and mind.
