A 23-year-old was arrested on Wednesday night in Paphos after a high-speed pursuit and shots fired at his tyres, police said on Thursday.
At 10.05pm on Wednesday, the police waved down a speeding car without numberplates, however the driver did not comply, reversed onto the pavement and drove towards the police officers.
One of the policemen fired shots at the vehicle’s tyres in an effort to immobilise it.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving.
On searching the car, the police found 17g of cannabis, 13g of methamphetamine, 6g of cocaine, 16.5 pills of ecstasy, two precision scales with traces of narcotics and a sum in cash.
A narcotest on the driver was positive.
Police investigations are ongoing.
