Turkish Cypriots are heading to the polls on Sunday to elect a community leader, who will serve a five-year term.
Incumbent Ersin Tatar, who favours a two-state solution to the Cyprus problem, is being challenged by opposition-backed candidate Tufan Erhurman, who advocates for a return to negotiations based on a federal solution.
Polls opened at 8am and will remain open until 6pm.
