A fish and chop shop owned by two Cypriot brothers London has been named as one of the top 10 chippy takeaways in the UK.

Brockley’s Rock in the Brockley area of London was included in the The National Fish & Chip Awards 2026 best chippy takeaways top 10 but was not crowned as the best in the UK.

It is owned by Sotiris and Kyriacos Karoulla from Lysi, and they have been running the shop since 2011.

Last year they won the Community Engagement Award at the same event.

According to the organisers – the National Federation of Fish Fryers – the awards are widely regarded as the cornerstone event for the fish and chip sector.

Presented in London on Wednesday, they honour the outstanding businesses and individuals serving one of Britain’s favourite dishes.

Entries are judged on a number of qualities including, skill, taste, operational and environmental sustainability, product quality, training and development, as well as customer service.

Judges carry out interviews and assessments to narrow the list down to the top ten and then carry out mystery visits to decide a winner.
