A 91-year-old man was injured in a road collision in the Nicosia suburb of Latsia on Monday afternoon and is being treated at the Nicosia general hospital.

According to the police, the incident occurred shortly before 1pm when, under circumstances still under investigation, a car driven by a 28-year-old woman struck the man as he was walking.

Police officers attended the scene to carry out examinations, while an ambulance transported the man to hospital.

Doctors found that the 91-year-old had sustained a head injury. His condition has been described as stable and not considered life-threatening.

The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
