Water cuts are continuing today in selected areas of Larnaca due to ongoing problems affecting desalination units, local authorities said.

In a statement, the Larnaca district government (EOA) said that limited water supply from government systems persists as a result of operational issues at desalination plants.

“As part of efforts to better manage the situation, the organisation is proceeding with rotational water supply cuts in selected areas until further notice,” the announcement said.

Consumers are being urged to use water sparingly to ensure their needs are met through the quantities stored in private water tanks at their properties.

Authorities also reiterated the urgent need for conservation measures and for the public to avoid unnecessary or excessive water use.

EOA apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for its understanding and cooperation.
