Two candidates are to stand to become the Maronite Cypriot community’s non-voting representative in parliament at the forthcoming election.
Incumbent Marios Mavrides, 63, who has been the community’s representative since 2011, is standing for re-election, and is being challenged by 56-year-old Petros Nacouzi.
The election will take place alongside the election of 56 members from the Greek Cypriot community on May 24.
