Three people were arrested on Sunday in connection with conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of an assault weapon and causing injury.
The police said that at around 5am on Sunday, a 20-year-old reported that while he was walking in Limassol at approximately 1am, a car stopped next to him, three unknown people got out and assaulted him, and then fled the scene.
After reporting the incident, the man was taken by ambulance to Limassol general hospital, where he was found to have suffered lung contusions, as well as abdominal lacerations for which he was given stitches.
The 20-year-old remains in hospital and his condition is out of danger.
While investigating the case, testimonies were obtained against three people aged 24, 22 and 20, who were arrested and placed in custody.
