The Bank of Cyprus (BoC) has introduced a new feature for cardholders that allows customers to view the location of merchants in real time for every payment made through the bank’s cards.

The enhancement is available through the BoC Mobile App and Internet Banking, providing users with more detailed information about their transactions.

According to the bank, the new functionality is designed to make payments more transparent, easier to identify and simpler to verify.

The bank explained that the enriched transaction history gives customers a more complete picture of each movement on their accounts.

Users can now view the merchant’s name through a recognisable description instead of codes, enabling easier identification of the business involved in a transaction.

They can also see the merchant’s logo, offering immediate visual confirmation of the company where the payment was made.

In addition, customers have access to location details, with the exact transaction point displayed through an integrated map.

Katerina Economidou, director of cards services at the Bank of Cyprus, said the institution is leveraging the technology of Snowdrop Solutions, a company trusted by Google, to enhance the customer experience.

“The bank is raising the bar by making use of Snowdrop Solutions’ technology, a company trusted by Google, to improve the real user experience,” Economidou said.

“We are transforming every transaction into instantly recognisable information, offering our customers an experience that meets the needs of the modern digital era,” she added.

The initiative forms part of the Bank of Cyprus’ digital services strategy, aimed at improving convenience and increasing transparency for customers using the bank’s payment cards.

The latest upgrade further strengthens the bank’s digital offering by providing real-time information, clearer transaction records and enhanced visibility over day-to-day spending.
