A 34-year-old man was arrested in Limassol on Thursday night after he was caught driving at 177km/h on a road where the speed limit is 80km/h.

Police stopped the vehicle at around 11.10pm.

The driver, a foreign national, also failed alcohol and drug tests, recording 29μg of alcohol against the legal limit of 22μg.

He was arrested and the case was immediately registered before court for trial.
