Larnaca Airport arrivals and departures: checking your flight
Passengers and anyone collecting them should use the airport operator’s live Larnaca arrivals and departures board. Search by flight number, airline or destination rather than relying exclusively on the scheduled time.
The airline remains the authoritative source for check-in deadlines, cancellations and rebooking. If the airport board and airline application show different information, contact the airline.
Delays at Larnaca may be caused by:
- restrictions or closures affecting regional airspace;
- aircraft arriving late from an earlier flight;
- heavy summer traffic and congestion;
- air-traffic-control restrictions;
- adverse weather at Larnaca or the destination;
- technical or operational problems;
- industrial action involving airlines, airports or ground handlers.
Passengers should normally arrive two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a longer flight. Allow additional time during school holidays, peak summer weekends and periods of regional disruption. Your airline’s stated check-in and bag-drop deadlines take precedence.
Ideally people collecting passengers should arrive at the short-stay parking once the flight has landed. Passport control and baggage collection can add 30–60 minutes—or longer during busy periods—to the published arrival time.

Getting from Larnaca Airport to your destination
The best choice depends on your destination, arrival time and number of passengers. A shuttle is generally cheapest for one or two travellers going to a major city or resort. A taxi or pre-booked transfer becomes more competitive when the cost is divided among several people.

Taxis wait outside the arrivals hall at Level 0 and operate 24 hours a day. Bolt also serves Larnaca Airport, with the application showing the designated collection point and price available at the time of booking. Availability and app prices can fluctuate during busy periods.
Larnaca Airport to Larnaca city
Local buses are the cheapest option. Route 425 connects the airport with central Larnaca and continues towards the Dhekelia tourist area. Follow the signs from arrivals to the public bus stop.
From August 3, 2026, an urban journey bought in cash on the bus costs €2.70, rising to €4.70 between 9pm and 4am. A Motion transport card reduces the standard fare, but most short-stay visitors will find a paper ticket simpler. Current Cyprus Public Transport fares
A taxi to the city centre generally costs approximately €15–€25 and takes around 10–15 minutes. The price may be higher for larger vehicles or accommodation farther along the Dhekelia Road.
Local tip: Finikoudes is the most useful central stop for many hotels, restaurants and onward buses. Check the bus’s destination before boarding because airport services may continue beyond the city centre.
Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa and Protaras
The scheduled Kapnos Airport Shuttle is normally the most straightforward public option.
A one-way ticket from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa starts at approximately €13 per adult, with a journey time of 45–55 minutes. The principal stops are Ayia Napa Square and Nissi Avenue, outside the Sunwing Sandy Bay hotel.
For Protaras and Pernera, the fare is approximately €15 per adult and €5 per child aged two to 12. The journey takes around an hour. Stops include Pernera Avenue, near the Windmills hotel, and Protaras Avenue near McDonald’s. Kapnos routes and stops
These are fixed stops, not hotel deliveries. Travellers staying away from the centre may require a local bus, short taxi journey or walk for the final part.
Taxis and private transfers usually cost €50–€70 to Ayia Napa and €60–€80 to Protaras, depending on the vehicle and exact address.
Local tip: Shuttle departures operate late into the evening but are not continuous. Reserve a seat during summer and check that the selected service stops in Ayia Napa, Protaras or both. A late-night taxi may be the only practical option after the final shuttle.
Larnaca Airport to Limassol
The Limassol Airport Express provides a direct scheduled connection. Tickets cost €10 for adults and €5 for children, and the journey generally takes 50–75 minutes.
In Limassol, the principal stop is Agios Georgios Havouzas. Services on the Larnaca route may also serve the tourist area opposite the St Raphael Hotel. Neither stop is in the historic centre, so many passengers need a city bus or taxi for the final leg. Limassol Airport Express

Local tip: Check which Limassol stop your service uses. Havouzas is convenient for motorway access but may be several kilometres from a hotel on the seafront.
Larnaca Airport to Nicosia
Kapnos operates a direct shuttle between Larnaca Airport and its Nicosia station on Kyrenias Avenue. The journey takes approximately 40–50 minutes and the adult fare is generally around €9–€10.
The Nicosia shuttle station is not in the central pedestrian area. Arrange a local taxi, bus or collection from the station if you have luggage.
A direct airport taxi or private transfer normally costs about €55–€75.
Local tip: Nicosia does not have a commercial passenger airport, making Larnaca the capital’s main air connection. Shuttle services are frequent, but passengers travelling very early or late should confirm the timetable rather than assume an overnight departure.
Larnaca Airport to Paphos
Paphos is the least convenient major resort to reach from Larnaca Airport by public transport.
Kapnos may connect Larnaca Airport with Paphos Airport, but passengers staying in Paphos must then take a local bus or taxi into town. Depending on the available connection, the total journey can take three hours or more and cost approximately €18–€25.
Another possibility is travelling into Larnaca and using intercity services, but this involves changes and is inconvenient with substantial luggage.
A direct taxi or transfer to Paphos typically costs €120–€160 and takes around 1½-2 hours in normal traffic. Coral Bay, Peyia, Polis and Latchi are farther and cost more.
Local tip: Before booking a flight to Larnaca for a Paphos holiday, compare the airfare saving with the additional transfer cost. Paphos Airport will usually be more practical if flight times and prices are similar.
Getting from Larnaca Airport to the north
There is no regular Republic of Cyprus public airport shuttle connecting Larnaca Airport directly with destinations in the Turkish-occupied north of the island.
Car hire at Larnaca Airport
Car-rental desks are located in or close to the arrivals area. Some companies keep vehicles at the airport; others transfer customers to a nearby depot by minibus. Check this distinction before booking, especially if arriving late.
Drivers generally need:
- a full, valid driving licence;
- a passport or identity document;
- the booking confirmation;
- a credit card in the principal driver’s name;
- an International Driving Permit if required for their licence.
Check the rental agreement for:
- the security deposit and card pre-authorisation;
- excess and collision-damage-waiver conditions;
- exclusions for tyres, glass, roof and underbody;
- full-to-full versus prepaid fuel policies;
- young or older-driver charges;
- additional-driver fees;
- late collection and out-of-hours charges;
- mileage limits;
- permission to cross the Green Line;
- charges for returning the car to a different airport.

Parking at Larnaca Airport
Larnaca Airport offers short-stay, long-stay covered and long-stay uncovered parking. All official areas are self-parking: you retain your keys.
Published drive-up prices effective from March 1, 2026 are:

Booking through the official airport parking portal may produce a lower price and guarantees a place in the selected category. Reservations must generally be made at least two hours ahead.
Private parking, valet collection and car-care services
Several independent parking companies operate close to Larnaca Airport. Travellers can either leave their car at an off-site facility and take a complimentary shuttle or arrange valet parking, under which a driver collects the vehicle at departures and returns it after the flight lands.
Some companies can also wash, polish, refuel or carry out basic maintenance while the owner is abroad. These businesses are independent of Larnaca Airport and Hermes Airports, and inclusion here does not constitute a recommendation.

Prices were checked in September 2026 and may change. Some operators count any part of a calendar day as a full day, while others calculate the stay in 24-hour periods.
Before handing over a vehicle and its keys, confirm:
- whether the company and its drivers are insured;
- what damage, theft and fire cover is included;
- the exact location where the vehicle will be stored;
- whether staff may move or drive it during the stay;
- whether airport collection and return are included;
- what happens if the return flight is delayed;
- whether VAT and additional services are included in the quotation.
Photograph the exterior, wheels, dashboard mileage and fuel level when surrendering the vehicle. Remove valuables and obtain a written receipt recording its condition and the services requested.
For maximum convenience, valet parking allows the driver to meet the passenger at the terminal. Travellers who would prefer not to surrender their keys should choose a self-parking option and use the company’s shuttle to the airport.
At departures, the airport permits a very brief free drop-off. Drivers who need to wait should use P2 rather than remaining on the terminal road.
Facilities and what to expect inside
Larnaca has one main passenger terminal. Facilities include:
- Check-in and security: Arrive two to three hours before departure unless the airline instructs otherwise.
- Food and drink: Cafés, takeaway food and restaurants are available landside and after security. Some operate around the clock, while others follow flight demand.
- Shopping: Duty-free and other retail outlets are available after security.
- Lounges: The airport has passenger lounges, including the Skala Lounge. Entry may be included with an airline ticket or membership, or available for purchase subject to capacity.
- Wi-Fi: Free airport Wi-Fi is available.
- Accessibility: Designated parking, accessible toilets, priority seating and equipment for boarding passengers with reduced mobility are provided. Request airline assistance at least 48 hours before travelling where possible.
- Luggage storage: Available at the Special Baggage Counter in the check-in area on Level 2. Published charges begin at €10 for up to three hours, rising to €22 for nine to 24 hours, plus €20 for each additional day. Luggage-storage information
- Baggage wrapping: Available through Safe-Sac in the check-in area.
- ATMs and currency exchange: Available in the terminal. Compare the exchange rate and commission before converting money.
- Smoking: The designated airside smoking area is after passport control, near Burger King.
- Prayer room: The airport does not prominently list a dedicated multi-faith prayer room. Passengers requiring a quiet space should ask at the information desk rather than assume one is available.
- Passenger information: Airport and airline desks can direct travellers, but only the operating airline can formally rebook a disrupted flight.
What to do if your flight is delayed or cancelled
First, check both the airport’s live board and the airline’s application or website. Keep boarding passes, booking confirmations, receipts and screenshots of notifications.
Under the EU’s current air-passenger rules, passengers departing from Larnaca are protected by Regulation EC 261/2004 regardless of the airline’s nationality.
Depending on the flight distance and delay, the operating airline may have to provide:
- reasonable meals and refreshments;
- access to communication;
- hotel accommodation when an overnight stay becomes necessary;
- transport between the airport and hotel;
- rerouting to the destination or a refund following cancellation;
- a refund where a departure delay reaches five hours and the passenger chooses not to travel.
Passengers reaching their final destination at least three hours late may qualify for compensation of €250, €400 or €600, depending on distance. Compensation is generally not payable if the airline proves that the disruption resulted from extraordinary circumstances, such as severe weather, security risks or airspace restrictions. Ask the airline for written confirmation of the delay or cancellation and its cause. If vouchers or accommodation are not supplied and you must pay reasonable expenses yourself, keep itemised receipts.
Do not accept a refund without considering the consequences: choosing reimbursement may end the airline’s obligation to transport you to the destination. When rerouting is offered, ask what happens to checked baggage and onward connections.

Hotels near Larnaca Airport
There is no large hotel physically attached to the terminal. The nearest practical accommodation is around Mackenzie, approximately five to ten minutes away by taxi, with more choices in central Larnaca.
For an early flight, confirm that reception operates overnight and that transport can be arranged at the required hour. Do not assume a hotel advertised as “near the airport” provides a complimentary shuttle.
Sleeping in the terminal is possible during an unexpected wait because the airport remains operational, but it is not designed as overnight accommodation.
Larnaca or Paphos: which airport should you fly into?
Choose primarily according to your final destination:
- Larnaca Airport: usually better for Larnaca, Nicosia, Ayia Napa, Protaras and much of Limassol.
- Paphos Airport: usually better for Paphos, Coral Bay, Peyia, Polis, Latchi and resorts in western Cyprus.
- Limassol: compare flight price and schedule; the city has airport-shuttle connections to both airports.
