Georgian president Salome Zourabichvili will meet President Nicos Anastasiades during her official visit to the island on Tuesday to discuss developments in the Cyprus problem and the two countries’ bilateral relations among other issues.
Zourabichvili is due to hold a private meeting with Anastasiades at the presidential palace on Tuesday morning before the two leaders participate in extended talks between delegations of the two countries. During the meeting, the two leaders will present medals.
Anastasiades will brief the Georgian president about the “unacceptable challenges of the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot side in the fenced-off area of Famagusta and the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus”, as well as the “unacceptable” claims for the solution of the Cyprus problem, government spokesman Marios Pelekanos had said.
The president of Georgia will then visit the House of Representatives, before she meets Archbishop Chrysostomos and visit the embassy of Georgia in the afternoon.
Zourabichvili will also attend an official dinner at 8pm, hosted in her honour at the presidential palace.
On Wednesday, the president of Georgia will visit the Georgian monastery in Gialia before she departs the island.
