The newly formed ensemble Plektó duet will perform for the first time in Paphos, at Technopolis 20 to take audiences on a musical journey around Spain, Argentina, Brazil and France. The duet consists of Eva Stavrou on the flute and Natasa Hatziandreou on percussions, and on May 20, they will present works by A Jolivet, J Ibert, A Piazzola, I Albeniz, C Machado and P McDonald.
The main goal of the duet is to highlight and promote the work of important composers of the 20th and 21st century as well as to introduce the flute and percussion timbres and the characteristic colour of their instruments.
Before their introductory concert, however, another musical performance will take place in Paphos. The Classical Music Concert Series Technopolis 20 Classics continues this week with Fedor Rudin, Julia Turnovsky and Ivan Rudin, three talented and world-famous musicians promising a high standard performance, where works by Darius Milhaud, Jean-Marie Leclair, Claude Debussy, Moritz Moszkowski, Igor Frolov and Pablo de Sarasate will be presented.
The concert will take place at Markideio Theatre in Paphos, on Friday, and for only one concert on the island the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy music by three prize-winners of prestigious competitions, with international performances in many of the world’s most revered concert halls, collaborating with renowned orchestras and conductors.
