The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) on Tuesday announced the conclusion of a groundbreaking event, conducted in collaboration with the NGO Citizens in Power and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Cyprus, aimed at promoting financial literacy.

According to the announcement, this innovative event, attended by a diverse audience, served as an immersive journey into the world of numerical concepts and financial understanding, transforming learning into an exciting experience.

Participants had the opportunity to delve into mathematics and financial literacy through a series of interactive exhibits tailored for the European project Numeric[All], co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ initiative.

Commencing with an inaugural ceremony on December 5, the event spanned two days and showcased 16 exhibits designed to engage and involve learners, enhancing their skills and comprehension.

This initiative signifies a significant stride in CySEC’s dedication to fostering financial knowledge and skills, aligning with its supervisory role and commitment to investor protection.

Recognising that such knowledge acts as a fundamental defence for investors, several exhibits were modified by the volunteers of the CFA Society Cyprus and CySEC Officers to cater specifically to financial literacy, ensuring an enriching experience for all participants.

The success of the event was further accentuated by the educational content featured at the Numeric[All] Exhibition, applauded for its inventive approach.

These exhibits, the commission explained, were praised for cultivating logical-mathematical thinking, encouraging collaboration, and fostering critical thinking and higher-order functions.

Moreover, the commission noted that in an era dominated by screens, these interactive exhibits provided hands-on engagement, allowing participants to learn and test their knowledge through direct interaction.

“We are pleased with the overwhelming response to this event, which highlights the growing awareness of the importance of financial literacy,” said a spokesperson from CySEC.

“The collaboration with Citizens in Power and CFA Society Cyprus has allowed us to create a unique experience that not only educates but also captivates individuals on the journey of financial understanding,” they added.
