Police in Paphos announced on Monday they had engaged in a crackdown on noise pollution over the weekend.
In total, they said, 12 entertainment venues were visited by the police in relation to the incident.
Paphos police’s assistant operations director Michalis Nikolaou said a venue on the town’s central Kennedy Square was also paid a visit, as it was playing music without permission.
He told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that two speakers and a sound console were found and confiscated and taken as evidence.
Additionally, the property’s manager, a 37-year-old man, received a €170 fine for the offences of providing alcoholic beverages and playing music without the relevant permission.
