A group cycling event is coming to Aradippou as part of the European Mobility Week. The Youth and Sports Committee of Aradippou Municipality organises a series of events this year to promote sustainable mobility standards and foster environmental awareness. The first event is a cycle ride with the slogan Cycling in Aradippou Municipality on Sunday.
The bike ride will set off from the central square of Troulloi at 8am and will pass through Kellia and end on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Aradippou, covering a distance of 12.6km. In the afternoon, a children’s cycling race will be held at Ammochostos Park in Aradippou, lasting from 5pm to 7pm, welcoming young cyclists.
An educational event on road safety and traffic will be held also on Friday at the parking area opposite the Municipal Hall from 8am to 12.30pm. Final-year students from primary schools will be informed about road safety as the event aims at promoting sustainable mobility and building a greener and cleaner municipality.
President of the Committee, Nikolas Karoulas says: “For the third consecutive year, our municipality, in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Committee, is participating in the European Mobility Week. This year, our main activities are part of the Car-Free Day initiative. We will close the streets to motorised vehicles and open them for our residents to walk, cycle, learn about public transportation, and allow our little heroes to enjoy uninterrupted playtime in public spaces.”
