The University of Nicosia (UNIC) and the Karaiskakio Foundation are delighted to bring back the Christmas spirit with a week-long celebration full of festive events and activities.

The “UNIC Christmas Spirit 2024” will run over Friday, November 29-Friday, December 6, 2024, inviting the public to get into the holiday mood:

  • Christmas Tree Lighting with live broadcast by LOVE FM 100.7
  • Christmas Village with an outdoor market and activities
  • Free Christmas Movie Screenings

Christmas Tree Lighting
November 29, 6pm

The festivities begin with the lighting of the Christmas tree on Friday, November 29, at 6pm. Guests will enjoy complimentary treats as they listen to seasonal music provided by Fani Papamichael and Tasos Evangelou during a live broadcast with LOVE FM 100.7. The evening will also feature musical performances by students from UNIC’s Music programme.

Christmas Village
November 29, 6-10pm
November 30-December 1, 11am-7pm

On November 29, 6-10pm, and over November 30-December 1, 11am-7pm, visitors can explore UNIC’s Christmas Village. This festive market will feature beautifully-decorated wooden houses and stalls offering handicrafts, holiday decorations, gifts, sweets, drinks and street food.

During the weekend of November 30 to December 1, activities for both adults and children will include dance and music performances, storytelling, face painting, a photo booth with Santa and his elves, a bouncy castle, and more.

Christmas Movie Screenings
December 2-4, and Friday, December 6

Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, “UNIC Christmas Spirit” will host free festive movie screenings from Monday, December 2, to Wednesday, December 4, and Friday, December 6, at UNIC’s Discovery Hall.
