A campaign to prevent traffic violations was carried out this week by Paphos police in areas where young people gather.
It aimed at raising awareness among younger people about traffic violations and accidents and to fight incidents of juvenile delinquency.
Following fatal traffic accidents in previous weeks, the police addressed younger people to prevent similar accidents.
The campaign included information about the dangers of wrong behaviour and its consequences, as well as discussions with young people about the issues that concern them.
Speaking about the death of four young people in one day in November, President Nikos Christodoulides said it is a “tragedy” to lose young people on the road. He added that everyone needs to work collectively to build a road safety culture.
