An exhibition by local artists marks the giving spirit of the season by supporting the charity Voice for Autism. The ongoing Illusions showcase organised by Kinanis LLC continues its tradition of promoting art while supporting charitable causes. In this exhibition, on until January 10, a total of 47 Cyprus-based artists present paintings, ceramics and sculptures.
The exhibition is in collaboration with the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (EKATE) and is held at the Akamantis Business Centre in Nicosia. It includes art from members of EKATE and the general public and offers the opportunity to see a collective art show that profiles local talent. All net proceeds will go to Voice for Autism, an NGO that is changing the landscape in Cyprus for young adults on the autism spectrum.
On behalf of Kinanis LLC, Ivi Papaioannou says there was an overwhelming number of entries to the competition for selecting the artwork and the calibre of art is very high. A commemorative book has been published where all participants are included along with their artwork.
“This is a very dynamic art show,” says Papaioannou, “and a great opportunity for people to see and have the opportunity to buy works from talented artists in our community. What heartens us the most is that our community with autism participated in the event. We are happy to support Voice for Autism and to assist them in the important work they are doing in advocating for the empowerment of people with autism.”
President of Voice for Autism Ellen Pontikis adds: “This is the third art event where Kinanis is standing up for autism in Cyprus. We are honoured to be chosen again as the beneficiary of this great event. It shows true commitment to our mission but also shows a commitment to social inclusion. Our community is always encouraged to participate.”
