Discussions to create solar parking at Peyia municipal stadium were due to begin on Friday.

The implementation of the parking will be funded by the EU as part of an Akamas municipality and ProLIGHTmed project.

The EU programme funding it is dedicated to promoting climate change, implementing local energy plans and creating greener living spaces to support sustainable urban development.

“This is a co-funded project, to explore innovative solutions, exchange good practices and describe specific strategies for more efficient and sustainable energy management,” the municipality said.

A similar solar parking area has been created at Nicosia general hospital.
