Apart from cosy living room vibes, an exquisite selection of herbal teas and legendary brandy sours, Prozak offers cultural events as well. This week, two happenings are coming up at the Nicosia coffee shop, with one more at the beginning of next week.
On Wednesday evening, a discussion circle in Greek with the title Arts and History will take place from 7.30pm. Paris Erotokritou, Christina Lambrou, Panagiotis Michael, Sofronis Sofroniou and Nikos Philippou will engage in a conversation inspired by Antonis Hadjikyriacou’s book Herseo Nisi.
“How can historical research serve as a source of inspiration for the arts? Can artistic creation spark scientific inquiries?” ask organisers. “Artists from various fields and perspectives come together to discuss the starting points they identify in Herseo Nisi. Through this dialogue, they explore the interplay between history and art, examining how the past can inform creative expression and how, in turn, art can provoke new academic questions.”
Switching gears slightly, a music night will follow. Bringing anglophone songs to the floor is Chelsea Hotel, a trio that will perform on Saturday at 8pm. Tunes from today and all the way back to the 60s will be performed by Pavlis Konstantopoulou, Marinos Kasinos and Manos Mathioudakis.
Then on February 3, Michalis Mavrotheris will present his poetry collection titled Isxiouses Diataxeis by Havra Publications. At the 7pm event, Alexandros Hronides and Marios Georgiou will talk about the book.
