Two music nights are coming up in Paphos, organised by Technopolis 20 to enrich February’s cultural agenda. Arriving first is a recital with young pianist Maria Avraam at the Paphos cultural venue on February 8. Avraam will take the floor to present a repertoire that weaves together the richness of folk tradition and lyrical expression with a modern musical approach.
Lasting just under an hour, the recital will feature pieces by Manos Hadjidakis, Maria Ioannou and Béla Bartok. Music lovers interested in witnessing the piano skills of the young artists are encouraged to reserve their spot in advance as there are only presale tickets available, from www.technopolis20.com.
More piano sounds will entertain Paphos audiences later in the month in a concert organised by Technopolis 20, this time held at Markideio Theatre, as musicians Andreas Karagiorgis and Marianna Georgiou present a piano concert dedicated to music for four hands.
February 19’s repertoire features the impressive Hungarian Dances by Brahms and Poulenc’s Sonata for Four Hands as well as selected contemporary solo works, including Sibelius’ Romance in D-flat Major and pieces from the collection Kinderlaunen by Nikolas Economou.
The two pianists, both from Paphos, possess extensive experience and have performed in Cyprus and abroad. Their technical mastery, musical sensitivity and artistic maturity promise an evening filled with emotion and a rich variety of sounds.
This concert offers a unique opportunity for the audience to experience the harmonious collaboration of two pianists, who, through their shared passion for music, will highlight both classical tradition and modern musical experimentation.
