A unique non-verbal performance is set to premiere in Nicosia before it goes on a Cyprus tour to entertain children of all ages, backgrounds and languages. Out of the Box is a touching performance for young audience members on the magical world of emotions, presented by AntiLogos Theatre. This Sunday, it holds its first show, at Maskarini Theatre in Nicosia.

The performance is about two travellers who suddenly come across a curious pile of boxes. From the largest box, a timid figure emerges – a body that appears scared and hesitant. However, as it gets to know the two travellers better, it embarks on a journey with them that it could never have imagined. A journey that reminds audiences of the importance of friendship, acceptance and solidarity, as well as the power hidden in being ‘together.’

Out of the Box is a performance that invites its audiences – old and young – to see emotions from a different perspective. One of its aims is to encourage children to discover the intricate world of emotions and that each feeling can take its own shape and colour. As no language will be spoken on stage, the performance welcomes children of all backgrounds, from the ages of four and above.

After the morning premiere this Sunday at 11am, the play will remain at Maskarini Theatre for more shows on February 9, 16 and 23 and March 2, 9 and 16. Its show times will vary from 11am to 4pm.

In between the Nicosia shows, Out of the Box will also go on a mini-Cyprus tour. On February 9, it will be presented to audiences in Paphos at Markideio Theatre at 11am, then at Limassol’s Rialto Theatre on February 16 and finally at Larnaca’s Municipal Theatre on March 16, also at 11am.
