Events in Nicosia
This is an exciting weekend for the capital city’s creatives as they bring forth new artistic proposals. On the stage of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, the family-friendly production of Franz Kafka’s Doll is set to charm audiences on Saturday and Sunday. The creative team behind the well-known play STILL! A Statue that Travelled the World, has prepared this new production based on what is considered a true story about Frankz Kafka and the letters he sent a little girl to comfort her when she lost her doll.
With original music and lyrics, this is set to be a touching performance, suitable not only for all ages but audiences of all nationalities as well as there is limited dialogue in the production.
Throughout the weekend, two pop-up bazaars will take place in Nicosia, both selling second-hand clothes, accessories, personal items and home décor. The Sustainable Bazaar at New Division will be a one-day occasion (10am-6pm) featuring collective pre-loved fashion pieces and local designers with eco-friendly creations.
Clothes Available will run on both days of the weekend at the downtown venue, Space Available from 12pm to 6.30pm with plenty to browse.
For a dose of music, you can return to New Division on Sunday night as the Kicker Band performs music from the American jazz ensemble John Scofield Quartet, joined by the renowned Cypriot saxophonist Charis Ioannou.

Events in Paphos
Live music melodies will sound in Paphos as well as young pianist Maria Avraam will perform a special programme on Saturday evening at Technopolis 20. Her recital For a Little White Seashell: Preludes and Dances for the Piano will blend folk tradition through a contemporary musical lens featuring pieces by Manos Hadjidakis, Maria Ioannou and Béla Bartok.
Over at Psifida Art Gallery, a new exhibition that recently opened will run until February 28. Excavations features pieces by the Greek artist Socrates Petrakis whose work draws inspiration from classical Greek sculptures, fused with a modern approach. In this exhibition, Petrakis reimagines the human form, portraying his subjects as ghostly, fragmented figures suspended between worlds.
Events in Limassol
In Limassol, there is always something to do and the locals certainly do not wait for the weekend to arrive. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, local musicians enrich the local nightlife with exciting shows. The Cherry on Top band will present their experimental sound at Billy Jo Sports & Rock Bar this Friday. Funk, pop, blues and rock tunes will fill the bar from 9pm onwards.
For funky reggae sounds, head to the Music Hall on Sunday night to catch a performance by Mr Wilson. The band plays a mix of 80s, 90s and contemporary hits with a reggae-funky twist. All five musicians of the band are known for their energetic live performances, creating a fun party atmosphere with every show.
