StandinLine Artspace gallery, in collaboration with Future DMND gallery, hosts a new exhibition at its space in Nicosia. Collecting the Past, Curating the Future will run from Thursday to February 28 highlighting the impact of curated art collections and the crucial role of showcasing visionary artists. Works by global artists and local creatives, both established and emerging are featured, all considered to be “shaping the global cultural landscape and inspiring future generations.”
“At a time when art is more accessible than ever, Collecting the Past, Curating the Future explores the responsibility and refined sensibility required to build significant collections,” the gallery says. “The exhibition aims to emphasise the importance of careful selection – works that not only reflect artistic excellence but also tell stories of cultural, social and historical significance. From iconic pieces by great masters to bold, contemporary creations by rising talents, the exhibition underscores the power of art to provoke thought, evoke emotion and connect us across time and space.”

Participating in the group showcase are the artists Ai Wei Wei, Alex Katz, Andrea Christodoulides, Chara Kontopoulou, Christos Kyriakides, Dario Lopez, Damien Hirst, Daisy Parris, Ed Ruscha, George Condo, Gerhard Richter, Jeff Koons, Jesse Morsberger, KAWS, Kos, Kendrick Corp, Daniel Arsham, Lauren Clay, Lynda Benglis, Takashi Murakami, Sean Gannon, Shepard Fairey and Andreas Stylianou.
“We believe that art is not just about aesthetics – it is about legacy. This exhibition is a testament to art’s ability to transcend time and place, both for the artist and the collector,” exhibition co-curator director of Future DMND Issa Ababseh. “The significance of collecting as a process and the opportunity to showcase works that challenge, inspire and endure is fundamental. This exhibition highlights some of the world’s most influential artists and the impact of their messages, ensuring that they resonate with generations to come.”
