Consistent excellent food

When going out, I usually like to find a cosy taverna, somewhere by the sea or support a local business. However, we can’t always fulfil those criteria and it’s just easier to go somewhere where you can pretty much rely on consistency.

Nestled in the heart of Larnaca, Marzano offers a dining experience that seamlessly blends modern design with culinary excellence. The restaurant’s contemporary aesthetic sees the tables laid out with precision, creating an inviting and organised atmosphere. The comfortable chairs further enhance the dining experience, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their meals in comfort. If you do end up missing the sea view with your meal, it is only a minute or so walk to the Phinikoudes seafront.

One of the standout features of Marzano is its extensive menu. The variety is impressive. Whether you’re in the mood for pasta, pizza, burgers, or one of their ‘super food’ meals, there’s something for everyone. I’d had an idea of what I fancied for lunch but some of the pasta dishes looked incredibly tempting, meaning that my indecisiveness kicked in again.

After the agonisingly long wait for my dad to join me, I decided to try the pizza and went for the American (basically, a pepperoni pizza), while my dad opted for the American burger, served with chips and coleslaw. I assure y’all, there was no intended theme for our lunch! Much to my delight, the pizza arrived at the table with a generous amount of cheese, just the way I like it. Each bite was perfect, with the cheese melting beautifully over the crispy crust. It was exactly what I had hoped for.

The burger was equally as impressive. Cooked to perfection, it was served exactly as he had requested – medium. The burger was juicy and flavourful, with a perfect balance of toppings that complemented the meat without overpowering it. Before the food came, the conversation was flowing and we were having a good ol catch up. The fact that we both ate in near silence is a testament to how much we enjoyed our food.

The dessert menu at Marzano is another area where the restaurant truly shines. The selection includes classics like apple pie, banoffee, ice cream, chocolate fudge cake, tiramisu and panna cotta. After much deliberation, we decided on the honeycomb cheesecake. This dessert exceeded expectations. I’ll be honest, it was the honeycomb that drew me so I hoped it would be good, and plentiful. Success! The honeycomb provided a delightful crunch in every bite, adding a unique texture that elevated the cheesecake. The perfect way to end our meal.

In addition to the excellent food, the service at Marzano deserves special mention. The staff were attentive and friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations based on our preferences. Their professionalism and warmth added to the overall positive experience.

The modern design and oaky tables at Marzano give the place a warm and inviting atmosphere. The lighting is just right, creating a cosy environment that is perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. I will return in the future.
