The Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) on Monday announced the launch of its latest labour cost survey for the reference year 2024.

This survey, conducted every four years, aims to collect important data on the level and structure of labour costs in Cyprus.

The survey will be carried out under the Official Statistics Law of 2021 (Law No. 25(I)/2021) and in line with European regulations.

“The data gathered will help understand key factors such as total staff employed, overtime, absences, and total labour costs within enterprises,” the announcement said.

The data collection will take place from February 2025 to June 2025.

Businesses selected to take part will be contacted by phone, after which they will receive an email with instructions on completing the online questionnaire.

Moreover, the announcement noted that the survey requires businesses to provide information electronically.

The statistical service also said that it “guarantees that all collected data will be kept confidential and used only for statistical purposes”.

However, it added that “businesses are reminded that participation is mandatory, and failure to comply may result in penalties under the law”.

“For added security, businesses can verify the authenticity of the phone number used to contact them through a special tool available on the statistical service’s website,” the announcement concluded.
