An interactive, fun and educational workshop for children is coming up at NiMAC this month inspired by the exhibition Repetitive Acts. Titled Forms in Motion, the workshop will welcome four to seven-year-olds to the Arts Centre on Saturday for an exciting morning.

Designed and facilitated by museum educator Elena Panayiotou, the workshop will take young visitors around the art grounds and activate their senses. It will run from 10.30am to 12pm and has a €10 participation fee.

“Through playful activities focusing on repetitive movement,” say organisers, “children are invited to explore the relationship between the artistic process, the body, the space and the works in the exhibition.

“At the same time,” they add, “listening to music enriches the multi-sensory experience, encouraging collaborative experimentation with paper, shapes and design materials, and recording movement pathways to create unique large-scale floor compositions. The resulting visual experimentation becomes a starting point for the creation of ideas, imaginative images and short narratives, offering children a holistic experience.”
