Education Minister Athena Michaelidou will travel to Brussels on Sunday, in the context of preparations for the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026.
According to an official press release, during her stay in Brussels, she will have meetings with
President of the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education, Nela Riehl, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for social rights and skills, quality jobs and preparedness, Roxana Minzatu, as well as with European Commissioner, responsible for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis.
Michaelidou will also meet with Director-General of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union Peter Javorcik and Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport Glenn Micallef.
The minister will return to Cyprus on Wednesday March 19, 2025.
