An Unesco committee conducted a mission in Cyprus to evaluate the implementation of the primary all day school in Ayios Dhometios.

A four-member Unesco expert committee were on the island from March 11 to 14.

The pilot operation of primary all-day school will be complementary to the morning school programme and operates between 1.35 and 4.35pm.

“In order to strengthen this type of schools, the educational ministry supports students with a policy to have a smooth transition from primary to secondary school,” the ministry announced.

The Unesco expert team had a meeting with the secondary general education directorate and visited the Agios Dhometios primary school to evaluate the programme.
