A standout among the impressive, world-class productions hosted by the Cyprus International Theatre Festival (CITF), which opened last Sunday, is the production “Divine Comedy” to be performed three times by the renowned Italian theatre group NoGravity.
“Divine Comedy” is a unique show suitable to fascinate young and old, inspired by Dante Alighieri’s famous narrative poem, where magic, illusion and the arts of the circus are masterfully combined.
A show defying gravity, audiences and critics alike have described it as: “magical, poetic, surreal, powerful – so vivid a dream we didn’t wish it to end”.
Italian choreographer Emiliano Pellisari, guides the audience, young and old, on Dante’s imaginary journey to the realm of the dead, through a performance fusing seamless dance, aerial acrobatics and visual art. Inspired by the wonders of Baroque-era theatre and utilising innovative staging techniques with the aid of modern technology, Pellisari creates an unreal, surreal universe, with NoGravity Theatre’s dancers floating and moving like dream figures.
Don’t miss your chance to experience this unique performance!
