The new month’s first weekend arrives with a plethora of events for all ages, tastes and in several locations. As we dive further into spring, more happenings are added to the cultural calendar and as the weather turns warmer they are only bound to multiply. If you are wondering what to do this weekend, here is a selection of events going on.

April 3

Before the weekend begins, several noteworthy events arrive. At Theatre Dentro, the English-language comedy Safetown will premiere on Thursday night and have repeated shows until Saturday and then again from Monday to Wednesday. Not only does the theatre show offer comic fun for the island’s anglophone community but it will also raise funds for the transport of people with limited mobility of the Cyprus Red Cross Society.

In Paphos, Technopolis 20 will host a unique musical event like no other. The Piano-Channeling Sound Journey with René Amtenbrink will be less like a concert and more like an experience through music and relaxation. Audiences are invited to bring their yoga mats and pillow to sit or lay on the ground to receive this sound journey.

April 4

Kicking off on Friday night is the 23rd edition of the Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival. With an array of film screenings, masterclasses for industry professionals, workshops and so much more, the 2025 festival will fill continue until April 12. The events will once again happen at Rialto Theatre and Pallas Theatre.

In Larnaca, a night of musicals and operas will be realised as part of the Larnaca Classical Music Festival. Presented by the cultural organisation Mousikorama, the repertoire will feature legendary Broadway and West End musicals and timeless operas, performed by Mariza Anastasiadi, Tasoula Vorka and Jantus Philaretou.

Music will also sound at Sarah’s Jazz Club in Nicosia with the Funked-Up-Project. The band is a three-member group of Pavlos Gregoras on vocals, Christos Pechlivanis on vocals and keys, and Nickolas Filippou on percussion that performs rock, blues and funk songs. They will take the stage at 9pm.

April 5

The weekend begins with a crafty Easter event for children. On Saturday morning, children are invited to Larnaca’s Municipal Library for Easter craft creations and traditional games in the garden. The activities will kick off at 10am, suitable for ages 5 to 12 and although free, require registration (24-654185).

In the Larnaca district village of Psevdas another edition of Pop Up Talks: Inspiring Stories will take place with four invited speakers. Menelaos A. Menelaouis, Gioula Pitsiali, Memnia Theodorou and Pambos Papacharalambous will share inspiring stories and lessons from life and business. Held in Greek, the event will begin at 4pm.

If it is a groovier vibe you are after, the Spring Market at Dusty Munky will have food, market stalls, DJs and tattoo stations from 12pm onwards. The weekend’s ultimate party vibes though will be at the Latsia Lyceum as the popular Greek reggae band Locomondo puts on a lively concert.
