A free event coming up this Saturday invites people in Nicosia to build bird nests while learning about nature. Get hands-on and join a workshop at the Pedieos riverbed that seeks to help birds by giving them refuge in wooden nests.
This Saturday, the Strovolos Municipality invites families, nature lovers and curious minds of all ages to a creative and educational outdoor event by the river. From 4.30pm to 7pm, near the Strovolos town hall (by the Alexandroupoleos Bridge), participants will create wooden bird nests while learning about the rich biodiversity that surrounds us.
The workshop offers a unique chance to connect with local scientists and environmental experts, explore the natural world of the Pedieos, and understand the important role birds play in urban ecosystems. The event aims to spark curiosity, raise awareness and encourage stewardship of the environment – while having fun together as a community.
No experience is needed, and participation is free, with refreshments and snacks available for everyone. The activity is perfect for children, families and adults who want to contribute to a greener, more inclusive urban environment.
