Oenophiles, heritage enthusiasts and wine producers, this is an event for you. On Sunday, the Old Market in Pallouriotissa turns into a wine lover’s playground as WINECORE – Cyprus Wine Consortium hosts its fourth annual wine celebration. Andamoma is back.

The wine event will be more than just tasting local wines. Its organisers aim to dive deep into Cyprus’ rich winemaking tradition, dating back over 6,000 years. From 3pm to 9pm, 15 wineries from across the island will pour their latest creations, many made from indigenous grape varieties and own-rooted, pre-phylloxera vines.

This event is all about honouring what makes Cyprus wine unique – the land, the history, the local grapes like Xynisteri, Maratheftiko and Yiannoudi – and tasting how today’s winemakers are reimagining ancient practices for modern palates.

If you are eager to learn even more, two immersive masterclasses will be on offer. The 3.30pm masterclass by Maria Th Masoura will be a guided tasting exploring Cyprus’ native treasures and ancient, self-rooted vineyards while the second masterclass at 5.30pm will explore 13 native grape varieties with winemaker Markos Zambartas. Each masterclass costs €30, which includes general exhibition access and open tasting.

A €15 ticket gets you in, along with a souvenir glass to keep as you sip your way through stalls. Masterclasses are also on the cards (details to be announced), and if you’re feeling lucky, stick around for prize draws throughout the day for a chance to win bottles of wine, tasting glasses and more.
