It has been a busy month for Limassol’s cultural scene with annual festivals returning, cultural productions happening and pop-up events. Before June’s busy summer agenda launches in just a couple of weeks, Rialto Theatre presents two more events – documentary screenings from sites of the world and Cyprus.

Coming up on Saturday is the documentary Ocean with David Attenborough which takes viewers on a breathtaking visual journey showing there is nowhere more vital for survival, more full of life, wonder or surprise, than the ocean. The 7pm screening will be in English, include subtitles in Greek, is suitable for audiences as young as ten years old and has an €8 entrance fee.

A few days later, Rialto Theatre will feature Paschalis Papapetrou’s The Water in Cyprus – Memories of Bygone Times. Screened on May 28, this is a documentary about the efforts of Cypriots, in a semi-arid geographical region, to divert water from riverbeds to irrigate their fields and exploit shallow aquifers by digging tunnels. It includes narration in Greek by Costas Charalambides and Pambos Sakkas, though the screening will include subtitles in English and free entry.
