Michalis Pantelides is world-renowned despite his young age. The Cypriot fashion designer has dressed local celebrities, received awards, participated in showcases and trained at the atelier of Iris Van Herpen and Ronald Van Der Kemp in Amsterdam. This June, following its presentation at Cannes Festival, he presents his exhibition Reformation, held at and inspired by Larnaca’s Pierides Museum.

Opening on Thursday, Pantelides will unveil pieces that re-imagine Cypriot cultural heritage. Taking the treasures of the Pierides Museum – Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, items such as ancient terracotta, ceramics and glass, the designer has transformed them into captivating digital collages that merge past and future aesthetics.

His work is the result of meticulous documentation of historical artwork, blended through a contemporary lens of modern design, digital techniques and sustainable fashion practices. The aim? To look at the island’s cultural identity through new eyes. “This collection offers a new way to connect, wear, share and cherish the island’s history,” say organisers, “placing Larnaca firmly on the global cultural map.”
