Get ready for two charming evenings in Cyprus villages, filled with images, melodies and rural scenes. The communities of Tochni and Mazotos are hosting cultural evenings in September inviting musicians and photographers to dress up the night.
Tochni’s amphitheatre will host a live music concert on September 5 as five musicians present the Melodies and Songs of the Sea programme full of tenderness and nostalgia, with melodies and songs inspired by the sea. Some of the evening’s tunes will be familiar to audiences while other choices will be lesser-known works.
Cellist Robertas Grod, pianist and guitarist Savvas Savva along with percussionist Andreas Theodorou and vocalists Christiana Larkou, Christina Gavrielidou and Despina Katsantoni will present the evening’s music repertoire.
Before the concert takes place, a photography exhibition titled Details in Cyprus will open at another village location that will be announced shortly. The exhibition showcases the best photographs from the 2025 Pancyprian Photography Competition and gets its title from a poem by Giorgos Seferis dedicated to the painter Adamantios Diamantis which invites viewers to notice the overlooked details. Cyprus’ silent, beautiful details will shine at the exhibition as seen through the lens of local photographers.
Both the exhibition and the concert will then travel to Mazotos on September 19 to continue sharing the talents of Cyprus’ artists.
