Airline reopens fixed price flight subscription scheme
Budget airline Wizz Air on Thursday announced that it reopened sales of Wizz MultiPass in Cyprus, a subscription product that allows passengers to secure fixed flight prices for a year.
The airline said the service is available across all international routes to and from Cyprus, allowing travellers to lock in the cost of flights and optional baggage for a 12 month period.
According to the company, the Wizz MultiPass subscription enables customers to secure a fixed monthly flight price regardless of seasonal demand or last minute fare changes.
The product provides one confirmed one way or return flight per month, provided bookings are made at least five days before departure.
Passengers may also add optional services including Wizz Priority and a 20 kilogram checked bag, depending on their travel requirements.
The airline said the subscription requires a one time first month fee followed by a fixed monthly payment for the remaining 11 months.
Subscribers are able to book their first flight as soon as the subscription becomes active and travel five days later, according to the company.
The subscription renews automatically on the first day of each month.
Bookings can also be made through the airline’s check in and bookings page, where passengers can add additional services before travelling.
The airline said subscriptions can also be purchased during the middle of a month, provided there are at least five days remaining before the end of that month.
In such cases, the customer is charged immediately and can board a flight within five days, while the first month of travel will be shorter before the subscription renews on the first day of the following month.
The airline said the product is designed for passengers who plan their travel in advance and fly regularly on specific routes.
This model differs from Wizz All You Can Fly, another subscription offered by the airline, which allows travellers to take multiple flights across the company’s network.
Under that scheme, members pay a recurring booking fee of £8.64, but can only select destinations from available routes between 72 hours and three hours before departure.
“Travellers are increasingly looking for predictability when planning their trips, particularly around peak periods when fares can fluctuate,” said Silvia Mosquera Gonzalez, commercial officer at Wizz Air.
“Wizz MultiPass gives Cypriot passengers the opportunity to fix their flight costs for an entire year, whether they are commuting regularly or planning multiple holidays,” she explained.
“It is about giving customers more control over their travel budget,” Gonzalez added.
According to the company, the subscription includes specific pricing plans for international routes between Cyprus and the United Kingdom.
The airline said the first month fee for a one way subscription is €156, while the first month fee for a return subscription is €312.
After the initial payment, the fixed recurring monthly fee for the remaining 11 months is €57 for one way travel and €114 for return travel.
Passengers who choose to add Wizz Priority, which includes two cabin bags and priority boarding, pay €33 for one way travel or €66 for return travel.
The airline also said that a 20 kilogram checked bag can be added for €42 for one way travel or €84 for return travel.
